The following have been received or found by me so far. The bass links page includes sources of basses, where you will find both retail stores and suppliers as well as artisans who craft double basses. However, some of the members of this list also - or exclusively - build instruments. While "luthier" can be used to refer to instrument builders, on our list, it is aimed mostly at those who can repair and set up basses. It outgrew the original page and now stands on its own. In July 1998 we began to ask other bassists to contribute names and contact information for luthiers who work on and sell basses, as a resource for others needing such information.
